ABOUT VOLPI
How I Got Here
Ben Volpi, the founder of Volpi Jewellery, began his journey into jewellery making with a one-day course he attended with his partner. Captivated by the creation of his first pendant, Ben committed to the craft, returning weekly for eight months. This dedication led to the establishment of his own bench, where he now creates all his pieces.
Ben initially launched a collection of jewellery, capturing his own images, designing a website, and selling his pieces. To further refine his skills, he completed a Level 5 Diploma in Jewelry Design and Manufacture at the British Academy of Jewellery, where he mastered advanced bench, CAD, engraving, and casting techniques.
With each new piece, Ben's passion for jewellery making has only grown stronger. He strives for uniqueness in every creation, drawing inspiration from nature and organic shapes. While he enjoys both bench work and CAD, his primary focus is on handmade pieces crafted from precious metals. Ben meticulously handles every stage of the process, including stone setting, etching, engraving, and casting, ensuring each piece reflects his commitment to quality.
Sustainability is also a key priority for Ben. He recycles metals for his jewellery whenever possible, often doing the recycling himself. His background in furniture making influences his clean, minimalist designs, each with a distinctive Volpi twist. Ethically sourced gemstones are essential to his work. Ben relishes the hands-on aspect of jewellery making and continually seeks to learn new techniques. Creating bespoke pieces and bringing clients' ideas to life is particularly fulfilling for him.
